The module is focused on basic knowledge as well as for acquaintance with new progressive trends in the area of materials and technologies for sensors production. The module acquaints the students with materials used at sensors production, with partitioning, principles and characteristics of sensors, with mainly used technologies: semiconductor, thin- and thick-film, as well as new technologies used in production of MEMS systems for sensors used in temperature, mechanical, geometric, magnetic and chemical parameters sensing as well as of biosensors.
2. Design systems in electronics – CAD
Content:
Orientation in design systems, partitioning of CAD programs. Definition of basic components for schematic design of electronic circuits. Techniques of schematic design. Verification of schematic design. Description of basic PCB design components. Definition of PCB parameters.
Elektric verification of PCB. Outputs from design system. Main outputs from modules and the form of their realization. Text forma with using of static and animated pictures. Animated examples of design system utilization.
3. Reliability and testing of sensors
Content:
Main criteria of reliability, their definition and analytic forms of representation. Defects definition and forms. Reliability tests and inspection technológie. Methodology and realization of reliability tests.
Main outputs from modules and the form of their realization: individual e - learning modules with text and spoken description, Flash animations and video presentations, generation of index dictionary, test queries.
B. The module, what will be created by staff of KBIAaM SjF TUKE
1. Application of sensors in v biomedical engineering
Content:
The module will be focused into area of sensors applications in biomedical engineering at three main areas: clinical applications of sensors, applications of sensors in biomedical research and application of sensors in prothetics, orthotics and rehabilitation engineering.
Clinical applications of sensors will cover the area of diagnostic and terapheutic equipment and systems. Biomedical research is also specific by using of wide scale of sensors and sensoric systems. The new and growing area is prothetics, orthotics and rehabilitation engineering, where special pressure sensors, accelerometers, temperature sensors and various optical, magnetic sensors and systems are used.
Location and operating of sensors and sensor systems in medical equipment will be presented in the form of interactive block diagrams and animations.
C. Modules, what will be created by staff of KLTP LF TUKE
1. Basic properties of sensors
Content:
The module will be focused on detail description of basic principles of sensors operating, classification, transition characteristics, noise properties, measurement networks and failures, with accent into creation of sensors database, what will be opened and cntinually updated.
2. Magnetic sensors and their applications
Content:
The module will be focused on principles and classification of sensors magnetic parameters, on characteristics of measured magnetic and derived parameters, on mostly used sensor types(inductive, feroprobe, Hall, MR, GMI,...), their applications with accent on their utilization in biomedical engineering.
D. Realization of courses for handicapped students – jointly supplied by all concerned personell
From the view of technical structure of course classroom, there is need for equipment with furniture, including of tables for handicapped students (from the view of experiences with occupancy in barrier-free centre at TU in Košice and with profilation of course, there is proposed to create the two posts for handicapped students). It requires the table with barrier free entrance for students at wheelchair and also hardware and software equipment for working at personal computer and for access and working with study modules (there is proposal for otilization of experiences in barrier-free centre, what was established in cooperation of Department of biomedical engineering, automation and measurement and Rectorate of TU in Košice).
E. Conclusion
Considering of project tasks interleaving, the management and logistics will be organized on the fly, according to fulfilment of individual project aims in the technical and technological level, so that the specified aims were progresively fulfilled with the active involvement of all participants.
All modules were created under standard html protocol with embedded animated and interactive flash applications, so that there will be ability to access by any standard platform without need for commercial software. Individual educational modules will be placed at autonomous servers, what will be installed at particular departments and they will be accessible by standard internet browser.
